It’s almost impossible to believe, but this episode is the 1000th episode of the Outdoors Show! Kevin, Kirk, and Jeff have been together for over twenty years, telling stories, sharing tips, answering questions, and laughing like a pack of wild hyenas!!
This show was filled with calls from some long-time listeners and Hall-of-Famers, along with plenty of talk about the fog all along the First Coast and lots of great stories from the Angelwood Shootout.
Enjoy the show!

The guys ALWAYS talk safety first. That’s why this week’s tip is important, because it’s sometime easy to forget about your ears. Protecting them is key, so you need great gear, like these “Laser Lite” disposable ear plugs. The bright idea in hearing protection, Laser Lite’s low-pressure polyurethane foam expands gently inside the ear canal for comfortable long-term wear, while its contoured T-shape delivers easy handling. If your out with your kids, the high-visibility magenta and yellow colors make it easy for you to see if their ears are protected, too. But regardless of what brand you get, just get some…and wear them. SAFETY FIRST!
Here’s your Ring Power CAT tip of the week from Captain Kevin Faver: The water temperature is finally warming up and the inshore bite is fantastic. But there are a ton of short trout and reds. Even though you can’t keep them they are fun to catch. If you do start catching a bunch of short fish do them a favor and smash down the barbs on your hooks. This makes the hook removal process much easier, and it’s much better for the fish, too!
Caramelized Onion, Sausage, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Crescent Wrap
You can make this using any combination of your favorite breakfast meats and cheeses. Get the Pillsbury crescent roll sheet and spread out on a greased cookie sheet. In a large bowl combine breakfast meat, shredded cheese of your choice, 1/2 cup of cream cheese, one dozen scrambled eggs, salt and pepper. We like to add caramelized onion too! Spread the mixture in the middle of the dough. Wrap and then baste the top with egg wash. Bake until it’s golden brown. Enjoy!
