About The Outdoors Show
Beginning in October of 1997, The Outdoors Show has been a fixture for First Coast anglers whenever they turned on their radios. Outdoors Show hosts Capt. Kevin Faver, Jeff Lageman, and Capt. Kirk Waltz talk hunting and fishing, covering the entire southeastern United States and beyond. If you’re all about whitetails, bucks, turkeys, hogs, and everything else running around out there, the guys will help you drop it. And if you’re all about the water and hooking tarpon, speckled trout, largemouth bass, red drum, and anything else swimming around in-shore or off-shore, they’ll give you the know-how to catch ’em.

About Capt. Kevin Faver
Capt. Kevin, a fourth generation Floridian, began fishing at age five, and his love affair with the water (and everything swimming in it) has never stopped. He became a licensed charter captain at age 18.
He quickly learned, through his father and his mentor Capt. Mike Scanlan, how to be a better fisherman and a top-notch charter captain. Over the years, Capt. Kevin has developed a love for catching tarpon, cobia, kingfish, sharks, and anything else that wants to participate. During the cooler months, most of his trips are in the backwaters fishing for reds, trout, and flounder.
Kevin also enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his wife, kids and granddaughter. They spend as much time outdoors as possible. “Passing on the legacy of hunting and fishing to my children and grandchildren the way my dad passed it on to me is one of the most important things I can do as a father. The outdoors is a great way to spend time with your kids and grandkids and teach them respect and responsibility”.

About Capt. Kirk Waltz
Capt. Kirk was born and raised in the southern town of Charleston, South Carolina. The Holy City, as it is commonly referred to, is completely surrounded by woods and water. As a young boy his father took him fishing at every opportunity he could on the backwaters of the Edisto, Ashley, Cooper, and Kiawah Rivers exploring the many waterways of the backcountry. Hours were also spent combing the big lakes Moultrie and Marion too near Columbia, South Carolina. Some of his fondest memories were fishing the Charleston Jetties at the entrance to Charleston Harbor. His Dad would drop the boys off on the rocks to catch whatever they could with their Calcutta poles and fiddler crabs.
In the early 70’s he moved to Cocoa Beach to attend college and there got the opportunity to fish the Banana and Indian rivers as well as explore Mosquito Lagoon. There he met his wife Kate whom helped him explore the areas wealthy fishing opportunities from Sebastian Inlet to Playlinda Beach. Here they would explore the back country catching redfish, trout, and a number of other species.
They moved in the early 80’s to Jacksonville Beach and raised 2 children, Lara and Kyle, while Kirk spent considerable time teaching the kids how to fish and exploring this vast wealth of water from Saint Augustine to Fernandina. During this time he managed to become a grandfather and would welcome another angler to the club, Madison. In 1995 Kirk met Kevin Faver who was guiding at the time and encouraged him to get his USCG Captains license. Some time shortly after that Kevin began hosting a radio program with Jaguar Defensive End Jeff Lageman called the Outdoors Show. Initially he gave field reports from Mayport but shortly thereafter was asked to come on as third Co-Host. The rest is history.
