OS1080: The Dorian Effect

Everyone has Hurricane Dorian on their minds, and the guys are no different. With it being so early in the 2019 hurricane season, it was the right time to talk about preparation and share every tip possible.

Much was shared, but the top tip was this: these will be stressful times…lets get through them together with extra measures of kindness, grace, and patience. Be safe!

With Hurricane Dorian approaching NOW is the time to visit Interstate Batteries to get flashlights, backup batteries to charge cell phones and batteries galore.

Patience and understanding by everyone is needed leading up to the storm and after. Panic is no good for anyone. Neighborly love goes a long way. Lets save other stuff for another time.

Here’s your KirbyCo Builders, Inc. cooking tip of the week from Captain Kirk: No power? No problem…. try Kirk’s Bacon wrapped green beans on the grill… YUM! Tune in now to hear EXACTLY how he does it.

OS1079: Beacons of Hope

In the wake of the boating tragedy involving Brian McCluny and Justin Walker, the guys focused in on safety and all the ways that offshore anglers can take care of themselves and everyone on their boat. There were plenty of laughs, stories, and interesting conversations too, but this one got serious…as it should have been. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the McCluny and Walker families.

You will get some fantastic tales about owls, bald eagles, hungry hammerheads, and more. Enjoy this one, but be warned: you may wreck your car, spit out your drink, or mess yourself at some point while listening. Like Capt. Kevin always says…THINK SAFETY FIRST!

OS1077: Hot Days and Cool Stories

With Capt. Kevin out of town having some family fun, it was up to Jeff and Capt. Kirk to reflect on the heat, nasty weather, lack of bait, and sickly fishermen. The great thing is this: even if it seems bad, the guys – and the listeners – make it fun with some great stories. This episode is no different, as you will get to hear a whole bunch of them, and learn some things along the way…like what ninja fishing is!

Get the lowdown on the dog days, and find out if anything is going to change as the week rolls on.

OS1076: Next Stop…The Outdoors Twilight Zone

Welcome to the dog days, when the fishing starts to drop off and it is still too hot to hit the woods, right? Not quite! We have sporty oceans, noreasters, shark infestations, running mullet, chilly Georgia mornings, and ant lions. Yeah, ant lions. There was a lot of strange conversation going on…especially when Lester chimed in. You will never look at a horsefly and a pine needle the same way again…
