OS 1135: Saluting a Friend and Sharing Stories

After a Thursday football broadcast, Jeff always gets the opportunity to head to the Georgia woods on the weekend.  That’s just what he did, so Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk held down the fort (until Jeff called in and hung around on the line for about an hour!).  There was A LOT to talk about…

As we all know, the First Coast’s fishing community is just that – a community.  And when a community tragically loses one of their own, we have to take time to pay our respects.  On this episode, we did just that in the wake of our dear friend Cleg’s unexpected passing.  We honored his memory with great stories and lots of laughs.  Rest in peace, brother!

Capt. Scott Shank called in with a SCARY story about his encounter with a 175-180 lb tarpon – you won’t believe it!  Put it this way – someone could have been seriously injured, and that is no exaggeration.

The guys also talked about a curious decision from Sea Fox to discontinue their most popular line of bay boats.  WHAT THE WHAT?!?!?

Here’s your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week from Captain Kirk: When you buy an I Pilot trolling motor…bite the bullet and buy a 2nd remote.  Listen to the episode to find out why!

Here’s your Ring Power CAT tip of the week: With all the wind and high tides we’ve had recently there is a lot of debris in the water! Be careful!

Here’s your KirbyCo Builders Inc. Cooking tip of the week: Organize your freezer! With hunting season open now you need to take inventory of your products. Whether its fish or game you need take the time to see what is in your freezer!
